Summary:
Officer Carrico was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call at the home of an ex-convict. As he and his partner were driving towards the suspects home he shot Officer Carrico with a high powered rifle through the windshield striking him in the head. The suspect fled in a boat across the Ohio River into Indiana.
Officer Carrico was survived by his wife and two children.
