Bio: Elijah La’Mose Ming Sr. was born to Sonji and Mark Ming in Los Angeles, CA. He entered the world at 1Ib 9 ounces. Elijah was considered a 'miracle baby.' He left this world on July 26th 2025, a 6 foot 3 inches, 200 lb man with a legacy of trust in God, love of family, and community service.

Elijah’s family relocated from Los Angeles to Kansas City, Kansas in 1993. He attended KCK USD 500 schools, graduating from F.L. Schlagle High School in 2009. He excelled academically and was known for his athletic abilities, lettering in football, baseball, and wrestling. He attended Fort Scott Community College where he received an Associate Degree. He also attended Wayne State University. While at Fort Scott, he played on two All Star Baseball teams in Hutchinson, Kansas and Santa Ana, California. He also was honored as Homecoming King while at Fort Scott. He was well loved by classmates and teachers.

Elijah had a very engaging and caring personality that left memories in every work setting that he had, including his last position with the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s department. After high school, Elijah worked in customer service at Hen House, followed by his time with Simmons Security Company. His caring spirit about the community and his belief in justice led him to pursue a career in law enforcement. Over the course of nine years, he worked in several positions as a Sheriff’s Deputy, including Training Officer and Acting Sergeant. He also recently was recognized as Employee of the Month. Friends and colleagues have said that 'his smile would light up a room' and his nonjudgmental attitude helped many people to make better decisions about their lives.

Elijah accepted Christ at an early age and later served as a Trustee at First AME Church, Kansas City, Kansas. He also worked with youth at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church Freedom School.

Elijah loved and protected his family. He was an excellent big brother. One of his brother’s stated – 'they argued, they laughed, and they hugged.' Tiara, his wife, and his two year old son, Elijah II 'Deuce' were the center of his life. He affectionately called Tiara 'Fudge Cake' and she called him 'Honey.' Elijah and Tiara met during middle school years in a college bound program and married in 2018, years later. Deuce was included in all of Elijah’s fun activities. He accompanied him to basketball games, played video games, and they did workout sessions together.
