| Bio: Officer Croxton's father, Sergeant Raymond Croxton, was killed in the line of duty on May 23, 1978, when he was involved in a crash during a vehicle pursuit while serving with the Ruston Police Department.

Russell Raymond Croxton was born in Ruston, LA to the union of Vicky Hood Croxton and Raymond Lynn Croxton, Jr. He married Jennifer Rowland Croxton on June 5, 1993, and they were blessed with two daughters.
Russell was dedicated to helping others as he served as the Dubach Police Chief from 2007-2018, Louisiana Tech University Police Officer from April 2019-April 2024, and returning to Dubach as a Police Officer on April 15, 2024 until the time of his death.
Russell loved his family and was proud of his two girls. His two grandchildren were wrapped around his little finger. There will be a piece of our heart missing, but we will see him again one day. |

Officer Russell Croxton was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while conducting a traffic stop on US 167 near Robert Lane shortly after 1:00 pm.
The vehicle he was pulling over stopped in the right travel lane of the four-lane highway. As Officer Croxton spoke with the driver a tractor-trailer failed to move over and struck the back of his patrol truck before striking him and the other vehicle.
Officer Croxton was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
