Trooper Jay Rougeau was shot and killed by a wanted man(Stone) near the intersection of Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township shortly after 3:00 pm.
Stone initially arrived at the Troop G, Lewistown Station, around 11 a.m. armed with a rifle and fired shots at patrol vehicles in the parking lot and shot Lieutenant James A. Wagner.
After a search, the shooter was located in the area of Swamp Road and Baumgardner Drive in Walker Township shortly after 3 p.m. on Saturday. Troopers exchanged gunfire with him. In the exchange, the shooter and Rougeau were both shot and killed.
