Summary:
Officer Joseph McKeown suffered what is believed to be a fatal heart attack while participating in a mandatory fitness training session. Approximately 30 minutes into the session, he began to feel ill and collapsed.
Fellow officers immediately began CPR as they waited for paramedics to arrive. He was transported to Misericordia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officer McKeown was assigned to the Red Deer Remand Centre.
