Summary: |
Officer Wesley Frame was shot and killed by a man he had arrested for littering in a stream. The suspect was found guilty of the offense but not given any jail time. However, because he was wanted in Virginia, the judge placed the suspect in Officer Frame's custody. In preparation to being handed over to Virginia authorities, Officer Frame took the suspect home to get a shirt. The suspect, however, obtained a .30-.30 rifle from his wife and shot the officer. The man fled to Ohio where he was apprehended and returned to West Virginia. The suspect was convicted of Officer Frame's murder.
Officer Frame had been with the agency for one year and had previously served with the United States Navy. He was survived by his wife and son, and is buried in New Bealls Mill Cemetery, Gasaway, Braxton County, West Virginia.
