Summary: Chief Huckabay was shot and killed while attempting to retrieve the body of Deputy Maurice Miller, of the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department, from the house the suspect was holed up in. The man had just shot and killed Deputy Miller. Other officers on the scene returned fire and killed the suspect. Chief Huckabay had been with the agency for 17 years and was survived by his wife, son and daughter.
