Patrolman Arthur D. Mutter was shot and killed during an armed robbery.
Officer Mutter observed three armed robbers inside a restaurant. One assailant was armed with a machine gun. Officer Mutter struggled with the three offenders attempting to gain control of the machine gun. In the altercation, one of the gunman fired two shots. Officer Mutter was struck and killed.
